The Bridge Learning Disability Services

Based at Holbeck Community Centre, Health for All’s The Bridge is a friendly small scale day service for adults with learning disabilities. We are open from 9.00-3.00pm, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year. Our own HFA transport provision is available to attendees within our south Leeds catchment area.

The Bridge offers a varied programme of meaningful activities and specialist classes both in and out of the Centre. These are designed to promote integration, reduce social isolation and contribute to social, physical and mental wellbeing. The importance of a healthy lifestyle is emphasised through activities including boccia, tag rugby, football, cricket, adapted ping-pong and walking. We also specialise in providing opportunities for engagement with a wide range of arts activities (pottery, painting, crafts, music and dance) often led by local working artists. These focus on celebrating each individual’s creativity and help to maintain and improve emotional and mental health.

We facilitate engagement with the wider community and seek employment opportunities (both paid and voluntary) for those individuals who want them. To this end we launched The Bridge Cafe,  a thriving local cafe in the Watsonian Pavilion, located in Cross Flatts Park, Beeston.
