The Cranmore and Raylands Centre is a brilliant example of community action and partnership. Lying unused for four years, local residents stepped in and asked us to bring it back in to community use. Thanks to a Jimbos Fund grant through Leeds Community Foundation, we were able to begin transformation of the building for local community use. The centre has a large activity hall, IT Access suite, a thriving community food pantry, a construction shed and horticultural area with additional outside activity space. Additional capital funding and a three year revenue grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, commencing spring 2020, is supporting staff posts to manage and sustain the centre, recruit volunteers and support local community groups.
