Menspace engages local men of all ages, men with learning disabilities and men with poor mental health who are experiencing isolation. Menspace provides healthy energising activities including the ability to work on two allotments in Beeston and small projects in our construction shed in Belle Isle. The wide range of activities we provide not only improves the health and wellbeing of those who attend, but creates valuable pathways which lead to further learning, volunteering and employment.
Suicide Prevention
Men experiencing bereavement, job loss and relationship breakdowns are factors which may contribute to feelings of depression which can lead to suicide. Leeds and in particular, south Leeds, has one of the highest rates of male suicide in the country. Funded by the CCG ( Clinical Commissioning Group) through Leeds Community Foundation, our Suicide Prevention service is committed to addressing and lowering these statistics.
We deliver vital and positive activities including walking, gardening and mindfulness to reduce feelings of despair and give men the support to seek further help and support. Contact Alison Reynolds for more information on 07956 078078 or email alison.reynolds@healthforall.org.uk
