Care Experienced Young People

Transitioning from the care system into a happy, healthy adulthood can be a challenging process and one which requires additional support. Our Care Experienced Project engages care experienced young people and parents in innovative weekly groups providing opportunities to learn new skills, build friendships, experience the warmth of peer support. The groups reduce loneliness, isolation and risk of exploitation, improve health, build confidence and self esteem, establish pathways to training and employment to reduce poverty. A recent project, ‘Care Connected’, funded by National Lottery Community Fund ensured young care experienced people were connected to activities and support throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
