Go Wild in the Woods This Summer

Leeds charity, Health for All is holding a series of Wednesdays in the Woods events, in local parks throughout August, for children and their families.

The events cost only £1 per child with activities including sports, arts and crafts, bouncy castles, musical activities, face painting, dancing and Eduplay’s Funky Fun Bus will also be there.   Vikrant Bhatia, Operations Manager, Intensive Family Support comments:  “While we support families intensively on a one to one basis, the Wednesdays in the Woods events provide a great opportunity for families to spend some time together engaging in fun activities. We decided to hold the events in the parks (woods) to help encourage families to make better use of these local outdoor spaces.”   Each of the fabulous events has a theme, with optional fancy dress including:
  • A day at the farm – Wednesday 4th August, Middleton Park
  • A day at the beach – Wednesday 11th August, Cross Flatts Park, Beeston
  • A day at the circus – Wednesday 18th August, Cottingley Primary School
  • A day of adventure – Wednesday 25th August, Middleton Park
The events will run from 10am to 2pm.   No booking is required and there is no age limit, so come along and enjoy the fun.   In addition to the children’s activities, a local cake decorator LoveStorm Cake Company will be offering free bun decorating workshops (4th / 11th August) to parents as part of an enterprising activity through the Sharing the Success programme.
