Tenants Hall Enterprise Centre opens its doors

The long awaited Tenants Hall Enterprise Centre in Middleton, south Leeds, was officially opened on Friday 28th October 2011 by Hilary Benn MP and Councillor Keith Wakefield, leader of Leeds City Council.

Tenants Hall Enterprise Centre, which is owned by Leeds City Council, will be managed by local charity Health for All (Leeds) Ltd. Development of the £1.6million centre has been funded by Central Government and the European Union European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The Enterprise Centre will provide local people with a professional setting and opportunities to support the growth and development of their new or existing business. A range of business events and activities to help encourage enterprise and employability will also be scheduled.

Facilities include hotdesks, offices, meeting rooms, an IT resource suite, multi-purpose room – complete with kitchen, toilets and outdoor area and a large hall which can accommodate up to 150 people.

In addition to the business facilities, the local community will be able to access external support services via the centre and use the facilities for private or public events, activities and for running community groups.

Hilary Benn MP said: ‘I am delighted to have been invited to open Tenants Hall Enterprise Centre. I have worked with Health for All, the terrific organisation who will be managing the centre, for many years. I’m confident Tenants Hall will be a huge success, attracting local businesses and playing a key part in encouraging enterprise in south Leeds’.

Councillor Keith Wakefield said of the centre: ‘Tenants Hall Enterprise Centre will provide the perfect environment for local people who are interested in starting a business. In addition to the facilities, Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber will be providing business advice and support which we hope will enable many new businesses to flourish’.
